Jorge vs Rossi 2015
When I decided to write this case (using my poor English), I knew it gonna be so so not promising at all.
But hey, worth to try.
First, when you ask If I’m Jorge’s fan, I will answer: Yes for this year. Please don't judge, you also have your right to choose yours.
I always fall in love with Yamaha’s rider, beginning from Max Biaggi (hello Mad Max), then Rossi (yes, Rossi), and now Jorge.
I don’t know why, maybe it’s because my first motorcycle is Yamaha. Beginning with Yamaha Alfa, Yamaha Sigma, Yamaha Force-1, Yamaha Vega, Yamaha F1ZRR (still have it until now, 2-stroke 110cc), Yamaha Vixion, and now I’m riding Honda Vario (you read it right, I cheated). But when I have money again, I will definitely buy Yamaha R25 and then Yamaha R6 (Hmmm.. Not so interested in R1, I prefer R6).
Oke, enough with those chit chat.
Let start.
Reading many article, Facebook post, Path, Twitter, and any other news about Rossi vs Jorge Here come the question from my brain:
If Rossi start behind Jorge, can he (Rossi) be the world champion?
Then I came across into this analysis fact:
First.
I go to http://www.motogp.com/en/Results+Statistics/2015/VAL/MotoGP/RAC to get the data from the last race.
Then I open the Grid for Qualification
1. Jorge’s get the pole position. It means, he qualified faster than Marquez
2. During the race, Jorge set another fastest lap in lap 2 and lap 3. Meanwhile Marquez set the fastest lap on lap 5 (and still slower than Jorge)

Second.
Do you think Rossi was great because he can overtake so many riders and become number 4 in lap 13?
My answer is: Yes, he was great and so entertain.
Rossi shows his “veteran” class by his move and risking everything.
But, in my opinion, that’s not enough. See picture below
From position 6 to 15, are all riders with 1’31.000+ lap time.
From position 16 to 24, are all riders with 1’32.000+ lap time.
In my opinion, with Yamaha Factory Motor, he will be easy passing each rider to become 16.
So I’m not so surprised when he can overtake so so many riders.
But my respect come when he tried to pass riders in 15 to 6.
3. With Rossi consistency, he shows his skill and “party” to become number 4 in just 13 lap.
Big cheers and applause to Rossi from me.

I create this table using excel. Pardon moi
4. Jorge, Marquez, and Dani consistently making 1’31.XXX. Meanwhile Rossi only 1’32.XXX. Rossi’s best fastest lap only 1’31.820. That’s even not enough to get closer to Dani.
5. Jorge’s lap really really consistent. See table below. So when Marquez get interviewed, and he said that he can’t get closer to Jorge’s, I think he is correct, despite many people (and also Rossi) said that Marquez did not do any action to pass Jorge. In my opinion, Jorge’s lap time are fantastic. He didn’t make any single mistake. Except for the 5 last lap.
6. Yes, even I said that Jorge’s lap so consistent, but in the last 5 lap, he’s slowing down. In my opinion, Marquez should be pass him. But, maybe it is so hard to pass, since Jorge’s time so consistent. (Just look at the camera view from the motor race to know the actual condition).
7. Imagine Marquez pass Jorge. Can Dani pass Jorge too? I don’t know, maybe yes. But probably not. Before Dani tried to overtake Marquez (2 last lap), he drop to 1’32.XXX. It happen before he tried to overtake Marquez. It means being behind anothers rider, can affect your time. Slower.
8. From this year statistic, Jorge won more races rather than Rossi. So I think, Jorge deserve to be world championship for this year 2015.
